• Born on April 23, 1942, in Tabriz (Iran),
• studied medicine and philosophy at the universities of Münster, Berlin, and Göttingen in Germany, 1960-1971,
• clinical training 1967-1972 in surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, internal medicine, psychiatry, and clinical neurophysiology,
• received M.D. from the University of Göttingen in 1971,
• 1972-1982 assistant professor and lecturer in the philosophy of medicine at the University of Münster,
• 1982-2004 professor of philosophy of medicine, University of Münster,
• married to Maria Klein since 1970,
• two sons, David Klein and Manuel Klein (1977, 1979),
• German citizen.
