My family

I am married to Maria Klein since April 1970. We have been living for more than forty years in the beautiful, almost 800-year-old mountain town and climatic health resort of Tecklenburg located at the foothills of the Teutoburg Forest, 35 kilometres north of Münster and 20 kilometres southwest of Osnabrück. And we have two sons, David (born 1977) and Manuel (born 1979). Manuel studied mathematics, physics, Dutch and Romance languages and literature at the University of Münster. He has two children, lives with his family in Münster and works there as a math, physics and Dutch language teacher at the Schiller Highschool. David studied energy engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and earned a doctorate of engineering from this university. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the area of transformation pathways at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, PIK, in Potsdam adjacent to Berlin. He resides in Potsdam.
